This 54-year-old gentleman had a husky frame and was not really looking to change his physique, but he did not like the appearance of his neck which made him feel heavier. He was seeking improvements in his neck but was fearful of open surgery and hopeful to have a minimally invasive procedure. Dr. Lyle performed a My Ellevate procedure on him under local anesthesia only with a mild sedative. The procedure involves liposuction of his neck with placement of a Percutaneous suture suspension which was placed through small, tiny punctures in his neck which healed without any scarring. The Internal suture helps suspend the platysma muscle and salivary glands which often are part of the full neck appearance. During open neck lift, the structures are sutured to improve muscle contour. He did not need any skin removal. Improvement occurred over time ;these photographs taken at approximately 4 months postoperative. The recovery of the procedure is quicker than an open neck lift procedure with about 3 or 4 days of slight discomfort and mandatory wearing of a chin neck strap followed by an additional week of wearing this at home and at night. Only a few small scars are needed including one under the chin and one under each earlobe. Not everyone is a candidate for this procedure and may need open surgery. However, it can be a quite effective treatment with 1/2 of the downtime and half of the price of a full neck lift. It is usually done awake with a mild sedative
