  Sofwave™ uses Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam (SUPERB™) technology to deliver controlled heat to the mid dermis and beyond, which enables your body's natural healing response to stimulate collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.  These all lead to a tighter more youthful appearance to the skin. When you arrive at Lyle Plastic Surgery and Aesthetics Center for your Sofwave session, we'll start by thoroughly cleansing the necessary sites. Topical numbing agents are applied and allowed to absorb to make the treatment more comfortable. After preparing your skin, we will smoothly run the Sofwave instrument over your skin several times for optimal outcomes. This method helps encourage your own natural regeneration of collagen and elastin, which makes the skin supple and taut over the long term. The Sofwave device has an integrated cooling system that helps keep your skin cool and comfortable throughout the treatment. Your procedure can last approximately 30 – 60 minutes, depending on the size and number of areas being treated. When the treatment session is over, you can go right back to your normal activities.

Sofwave FAQs

1.  Does the treatment hurt?

Sofwave™ can be an uncomfortable treatment.  In addition to topical numbing, we utilize a number of techniques to help ensure comfort.  For example, Pronox™ -and inhaled gas like a dentist uses can be administered to reduce pain. Often called laughing gas, this nitrous oxide-based treatment is lighter than typical used in dentistry and goes away almost immediately allowing you to drive home after having a Sofwave™ procedure Oral sedatives or pain medications can also be prescribed.  In some cases, nerve blocks were utilized to reduce discomfort.

2.  What is the down time?

There is minimal if any down time with Sofwave™ treatments.  You may experience mild redness, but it typically goes away in a few hours on rare occasions mild to moderate swelling occurs that may take a few days to recover but generally you can resume all normal activities after a treatment.

3.  How long will my results last?

The effect of the energy treatment is permanent however as we continued age, it is important to use medical grade skin care and SPF daily.  Many patients will have ongoing treatments every year or so to maintain the results as the aging process is relentless.  This is true of almost all energy base device treatments.

4.  What areas of the body can be treated?  
Face, neck, acne scars, arms abdomen, thighs and knees can be treated and cellulite of the buttock and thighs can also improve with treatment

5.  How long will it take to see results?

Typically, 3-6 months as it takes time to build new collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.  Patient's report continued improvement even beyond 6 months.
