My Ellevate™ is a minimally invasive procedure that improves the appearance of the sagging neck. It is the invention of Dr. Greg Mueller in Beverly Hills , California. The procedure involves placement of an internal suture within the upper neck which helps to define the jawline by suspending loose salivary glands and tightened the underlying platysma muscle. Platysmal banding can also be improved by weakening these muscles during the procedure. All of the incisions to place the suture are percutaneous small holes which heal without visible scarring. Small incisions under the ear lobes and chin are needed to perform liposuction and/or optional skin tightening devices such as FaceTite or Renuvion®. The procedure is done typically with local anesthesia perhaps with an oral sedative and takes between 1 hour and 1-1/2 hours. Final results take several months but immediate improvement is often notable. The addition of an incision behind the ear or in front of the ear to remove some loose skin is called My Ellevate™ Plus and this typically can be done with local anesthesia as well. This 58-year-old gentleman was unhappy with the sagging in his neck. He had a small amount of skin removed in front of his ear and behind his ear to help tighten his skin at the time of placement of the percutaneous suture suspension. He was very happy with his improvement with a more defined neck and jawline. There was minimally noticeable scarring.
