Upper Blepharoplasty Improves Appearance and Visual Fields, Raleigh, NC

This is a 65-year-old woman who presented with concerns about heavy upper eyelids. She noted progressive inability to see on upward gaze which affected her driving particularly at night. She found difficulty looking upward in seeing road signs. She indeed had heavy upper eyelids with the upper eyelid skin resting on her eyelashes. She underwent upper blepharoplasty with marked improvement in the appearance of her upper face as well as significant improvement in her ability to see. Patient's need to have documentation of visual field deficits which is performed by an ophthalmologist or optometrist. Upper blepharoplasty is affordable and usually costs under $4000 and has fairly minimal recovery. It is a very effective procedure at making crisper-appearing upper eyelid and patients typically remark that they enjoy not looking as tired.
