There has been recent concern about textured implants being associated with a form of lymphoma called in ALCL. Specifically, the Allergan style 410 Biocell type texturing was noted to have the highest association and were withdrawn from the market recently. Patients with these implants were advised only to remove them if they developed potential signs of problems such as fluid collections or mass in the breast. However many women had significant enough concerns that they wish to have her implants removed and exchanged because of fear of development of this uncommon disease. This patient had style 410 implants placed 8 years prior by another physician. Although she was not having the typical signs of ALCL, she was concerned that disease typically presents approximately 8 years after implantation and wished to have her implants removed. She had shaped implants and was concerned with how exchange affect her shape. She had removal of her implants with partial capsulectomy and replacement with smooth wall round implants. Despite the different implants, she had very little change in her breast shape and was very pleased with the outcome. Exchange of textured shaped implants to round smooth implants is not always a straightforward procedure. Determination of capsular removal is made by clinical findings . Complete capsulectomy is not necessarily indicated unless pathological findings are found. This patient's capsules were submitted and did not exhibit ALCL
