This 35-year-old woman had significant breast enlargement which cause symptoms such as back pain and neck pain and shoulder pain. What made matters worse is that her right breast was much larger than the left so she had marked asymmetry which exacerbated her problems. She had a very difficult time finding proper dressing her fifth and could never sit into a normal bra. She had 1023 g of breast tissue taken from the larger right breast and 663 grams from the left side. The right side was 35% bigger. She had a significant improvement in her symptomatology in her breasts were much more even after surgery. Breast reduction done only takes care of large breasts but also takes care of asymmetric breasts. Many women who presents for breast reduction exhibit uneven breasts which can be addressed during the reduction procedure. This asymmetry often causes and imbalance and worsening of neck and back pain so correction of asymmetry is an important part of breast reduction
