This 38-year-old woman had previous weight loss surgery and had undergone abdominoplasty and brachioplasty by another plastic surgeon. She chose Dr. Glenn Lyle to perform her mastopexy. She had wide set breasts with grade 3 ptosis and large areola. She did not want breast implants and wanted lift only. This was a more challenging case and because of a narrow breast footprint and somewhat constricted lower pole of the breast Dr. Lyle chose a vertical mastopexy technique often called a lollipop lift or circum-vertical lift. This procedure differs from the standard inverted T or anchor pattern type incision which is usually necessary for patients with massive weight loss. There is a less incision usually just a vertical scar and perhaps a short lateral scar. Each case is different however and being familiar with a variety of techniques is important when deciding the best procedure to improve the breast appearance. Dr. Lyle also perform some Vaser assisted liposuction of her axillary area and did some revisions of the previous plastic surgeons abdominoplasty. The patient was very happy with the improvement.
