Breast Lift

Breast lifting or mastopexy is very similar to breast reduction in terms of design. Mastopexy is performed when breast shape, size and low nipple position are concerns but breast volume is felt to be adequate. Some degree of breast removal is usually performed with mastopexy but breast reduction usually involves significant volume reduction. This patient underwent bilateral mastopexy to improve shape and symmetry of her breasts. She did desire somewhat smaller-appearing breasts but did not require very much breast tissue removal. Breast asymmetries are very common and can be improved upon with mastopexy technique. This 48-year-old woman desired improvements in shape. She did not like her droopy breasts but did not want to be significantly smaller. She did note her right breast was larger and wanted them to be more even. She underwent bilateral breast lift with removal of some additional breast tissue on the right side. She was very pleased with her outcome with a better shape, nipple position and appearance of her breasts. Her recovery was smooth with return to work within 2 weeks without any major restrictions.
