This 29-year-old woman had prior breast biopsies for benign tumors in her right breast and had some asymmetry. She initially was hopeful to have fat transfer however given her history of multiple breast biopsies and her very dense breast tissue, fat grafting was not felt to be a suitable option especially based on her desire to go to C cup. The patient did have a minor degree of breast ptosis or drooping and in some cases a breast lift would be required. In this case Dr. Lyle performed bilateral submuscular breast augmentation with a dual plane release of the muscle which helps to overcome some of the breast ptosis without doing a mastopexy. The patient had preoperative imaging done with the Crisilix system which is a 3D imaging software which helps to demonstrate and predict possible outcomes of breast augmentation. Because of her asymmetry, slightly different size implants were utilized. During surgery Dr. Lyle utilized the Keller funnel which helps to deliver the implant with less trauma and less exposure to the surface of the skin which may reduce potential for infection. The patient had Sientra moderate plus gel implants placed with a 355 cc implant on the right and a 325 cc implant on the left. She was extremely happy with her results. Cases with asymmetry and ptosis can be challenging and minor degrees of persistent asymmetry may exist . She now feels more confident in her clothing and bathing suits and went from an A cup to a C cup.
