Breast Augmentation in Raleigh, North Carolina

This 39-year-old woman lost volume in her breasts after pregnancy. She was very athletic and had a very slender frame. She wished to go from an A cup to a C cup which is the most sought after cup size In women presenting for breast augmentation. Choices of implants are discussed in preop consultation including saline augmentation as well as silicone gel breast implants. For slender woman with little breast tissue, silicone gel breast implants offer less palpability than saline devices. Choices of implant placement include sub muscular versus on top of muscle. Sub muscular technique offers reduced risk of capsular contracture , less palpability and potentially better quality mammograms. Potential downsides includes animation deformity, limitation of cleavage development and muscular pain. Determination of size is made with a combination of breast measurements, individualized selection of implant diameters and projection as well as 3-D Imaging system in many cases. Dr. Lyle utilizes the Crisilix 3-D imaging. This patient underwent bilateral submuscular breast augmentation with 295 cc high profile Allergan gel breast implants. Dr. Lyle uses the Keller funnel to reduce potential bacterial contamination of the implant and to limit incision size. The patient achieved the C cup that she was hoping for was very pleased with the improvement in her breasts. She did not suffer from significant animation deformity and was able to continue her very active lifestyle
