This 25 year old woman had relatively small breasts which were accentuated by a mild pectus excavatum deformity which is a congenital condition with a depression in the sternum in the area between the breasts. She wished to go from an A cup to a C cup and chose saline breast implants. She underwent a bilateral submuscular ( below the muscle) breast augmentation with Mentor Moderate Plus 300 cc implants filled to their full capacity with 360cc of saline. She was very happy with her new breasts and less self conscious about the sunken in appearing chest wall. Breast augmentation often can mask or disguise minor chest wall asymmetries and anomalies. Special care has to be taken when performing augmentation with these conditions because they may be exaggerated and asymmetry can not be completely avoided.
