This 24-year-old woman had what is called constricted breast deformity with hypoplastic and uneven breasts with tight folds. It is a variation of a tubular or tuberous breast. Correction was achieved with augmentation with gel implants - 450 cc on the left and 500 cc on the left. In many cases, breast augmentation on women with fairly normal but small appearing breasts is a fairly simple procedure and the goal is to just enhance the natural normal-appearing breast. In patients with asymmetries, constriction deformities and other types of chest wall deformities, an augmentation can almost be a reconstructive type of procedure. Constricted breasts or tuberous breasts require manipulation of the breast tissue to release tight tissue which may be impossible to completely correct. With asymmetry, variable size implants and different profile implants are often necessary and in some cases fat grafting may be beneficial to improve shape. Breast augmentation is not so simple in these patients She was very pleased with the outcome and felt "normal" now after Dr. Lyle performed her breast augmentation.
