This 49 year old mother of 4 children had a prior hysterectomy . She had severe stretch marks ( abdominal striae), significant diastasis rectus as well as an umbilical hernia. She hated her abdominal appearance. She did have loose skin of her abdomen but not really a large amount. It looked worse because of her tethered hysterectomy scar . After careful evaluation, Dr Lyle performed an abdominoplasty with simultaneous umbilical hernia repair without mesh as well as diastasis repair. Most of her stretch marks in her lower abdomen were removed. She did not have quite enough skin excess to remove all of the lower abdominal skin which included her umbilical opening so a small vertical scar above the pubis was necessary. however this looked much better than the stretch marks. Her abdomen is now nice and flat. The hernia is gone and stretch marks almost all eliminated.
