This is a woman who, at age 47, had had several children and developed postpartum breast growth and was unable to improve the appearance of her abdomen with exercise and diet. She underwent bilateral breast reduction at the time of an abdominoplasty with liposuction of the flanks. Her abdominal pannus weighed 2 kg or nearly 4-1/2 pounds. The breast specimens weighed 1.25 pounds each and liposuction was approximately 2 pounds. So through surgery, she lost almost 10 pounds. She was quite pleased with the improvements made in her breasts and abdomen was able to fit into a variety of new outfits and bathing suits. Mommy makeover is a general term but typically involves abdominoplasty in either breast lift, breast reduction or breast augmentation.
