Mommy Makeover

This is a 39-year-old woman who had 2 children and eventually lost 60 pounds through diet and exercise. This left her with sagging breasts and a loose abdominal pannus. She desired improvement in her breast appearance but did not want breast implants. She wanted a abdominoplasty with liposuction as well. She underwent bilateral mastopexy with placement of a resorbable synthetic mesh-called Galaflex which helps to support the breast tissue, and provide shape- while things are healing and maintain upper pole fullness. Although it is not the same as a breast implant, in many cases, it helps to maintain a nice full breast without an implant. She also had simultaneous abdominoplasty with liposuction of the abdomen and flanks. Her abdominal pannus and the liposuction tissue ended up weighing just over 7 pounds. Her recovery was facilitated by the use of Exparel -A long-lasting local anesthetic that is injected during surgery. This helps control pain in the postoperative period She was very pleased with the new appearance of her breasts going so far as to have her nipples pierced as she liked their new perky appearance. She was thrilled with her abdomen is well. Mommy makeover is a procedure that is very well tolerated. Recovery is usually about 2 weeks before getting back to some normal activities such as driving and doing light housework

Dr. Glenn Lyle is a board-certified plastic surgeon serving the Raleigh, NC community at Lyle Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Center since 2002. Dr. Lyle completed his medical degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine, followed by a general surgery residency at the University of Massachusetts and a plastic surgery residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch.
