Mommy makeover is a general term that refers to Surgically addressing problems that occur after pregnancy with breast changes and abdominal changes during the same operation. This could be a breast lift ,reduction or augmentation combined with tummy tuck or even liposuction alone. This 31-year-old woman suffered from significant diastases rectus or a stretching of the abdominal wall after 3 pregnancies including 2 C-sections. After her third pregnancy she stated that she often still looked pregnant because of the pot belly appearance. She was noted to have a very significant diastases. She also desired reinflation of her breasts after she lost volume after pregnancies. She chose saline breast implants. During her surgery she underwent repair of a very significant diastases which was done by plication technique involving tightening the loose fascia covering of the abdominal muscles. This was performed during her abdominoplasty. In her case, her breast augmentation was performed through the abdominal incision without making incisions on her breast. Submuscular placement was achieved. There was a time when trans-umbilical breast augmentation was popular but typically was only done with saline implants. This patient did not have that procedure but her abdominal incision was utilized to place her saline breast implants. Added benefit was less scar.
