Body Lift and Mastopexy with Mesh After Bariatric Surgery, Raleigh, NC

This 43-year-old woman underwent prior gastric sleeve several years prior. She had lost 110 pounds going from 290 pounds down to 180 pounds. She had lots of excess abddominal skin and significant drooping of her breasts. She underwent a circumferential abdominoplasty with mastopexy. Her mastopexy had Galaflex mesh reinforcement which is helpful to maintain positioning of the uplifted breast tissue. This product is a synthetic mesh which is absorbable but holds the tissue in place for up to a year before the body absorbs it. This prevents the tissue from sagging in the early postoperative period. The patient had a good experience with the recovery taking approximately 2 weeks away from work and an additional 4 weeks before resuming light exercise. Her procedure was performed in Dr. Lyle's surgical facility. This patient was very pleased with the improvements made. Most patients desire additional procedures such as brachioplasty, thigh lifting and even facial surgery.
