Abdominoplasty is not nearly as popular in male patients however is often performed after weight loss and concerns about excess loose skin. This 56-year-old patient had a prior abdominoplasty by another surgeon approximately 7 years ago. He was never happy with the flank area and noticed significant discrepancy between his upper abdominal truncal appearance and his hips which were narrow. In the interim, he also had to have an emergency abdominal surgery and had a midline scar. Dissatisfied with his appearance, he sought improvements with his abdominoplasty as well as reduction in his very prominent flanks which prevented him from proper clothing fit. He underwent liposuction with revision of his abdominoplasty essentially redoing the abdominoplasty-- lifting the excess tissue and redoimg the scar around his belt line with liposuction of this flanks. A total of 500 cc per flank was removed and his abdominoplasty scar was extended posteriorly to help remove the excess skin that resulted from liposuction. He is now much happier with his abdominoplasty appearance with more uniform contouring and elimination of his love handles and flank area. Desire for improvement in abdominoplasty is not uncommon and can frequently be done with additional liposuction and even some additional skin removal
