Brazilian Buttock Lift is a procedure involving liposuction of a variety of areas of the body to improve contour while at the same time utilizing the liposuctioned fat to enhance buttock shape and volume. In some cases, very large volumes of fat are utilized to create significant enlargement while in others the goal is just to improve projection and avoid an overly done result. This patient is a 34-year-old woman who never was happy with her buttock appearance. She had fairly loose skin of her abdomen and flanks and in these situations overly aggressive liposuction can lead to more skin and contour irregularities. Vaser liposuction utilize ultrasonic energy to emulsify the fat with standard liposuction extracting the fat. Because the use of excessive ultrasonic energy could lead to non-viability of fat, less aggressive power settings on the Vaser are necessary and skin tightening from this device is not as impressive. This patient had significant improvement of projection of her buttock but only had 400 cc per buttock placed. Typically resorption of some off the fat is expected with engraftment success of between 60 and 70% of the grafted fat expected. The patient was happy with the improvements noted as evidenced by the three-month result. Generally results of liposuction especially with Vaser device, take at least 6 months to see the final outcome. Maintaining good physical fitness during this time is recommended to maximize the improvements
