Raleigh Patient Receives Arm Lift Surgery-

In fall 2023, This patient with history of bariatric surgery underwent an Arm Lift by Dr. Glenn Lyle in Raleigh, NC. Following the procedure, she expressed satisfaction with the outcome, noting improved arm contour and confidence. The patient reported minimal pain and a smooth recovery process. Dr. Lyle's expertise and the supportive staff played a significant role in her positive experience, enhancing her overall quality of life. About 10 years ago the patient weighed almost 350 lbs. and after a bariatric procedure had lost almost 200 pounds. She had loose skin throughout her body including, abdomen and back and underwent a body lift and breast augmentation a few years ago by Dr. Glenn Lyle. She was hopeful that her arms would tighten up with exercise but unfortunately with patients with this degree of weight loss this usually does not help much. In fact, loose arms are a very common complaint of patients after massive weight loss. There are very few noninvasive or minimally invasive procedures that help this patient population. It usually requires a brachioplasty also known as arm lift. Unfortunately, this procedure requires an incision on the arm with a resulting scar which cannot be completely hidden. Dr. Lyle performs a posterior lateral approach which leaves the scar less noticeable. Treatments for arm scars include silicone taping, massage, Compression sleeves and even laser treatments to improve the results and scar appearance.
