This 53 year old woman had large pendulous breasts- wearing a 36DDD bra and after childbirth- developed a pannus with overhanding skin and stretchmarks of her abdomen. She enjoyed exercise but found her cumbersome breasts and excess skin prevented her from getting in shape and made it difficult to get clothes to fit. She wanted to maintain a nice full breast – perhaps a D but desired improvements in shape and abdominal contour. She underwent a breast reduction and abdominoplasty with liposuction of her flanks. This was done under general anesthesia in Dr. Lyle’s facility. Dr Lyle removed 1.6 pounds of breast per side as well as 5 pounds of abdominal tissue and 2 pounds with liposuction- a total of 10 lbs during surgery. She recovered fairly quickly. Exparel was used for post operative analgesia. She now is much more comfortable in her clothing and is actually losing more weight as she enjoys exercise much more now.
