This 55 year old woman had breast augmentation over 10 years ago with saline submuscular implants. Although pleased with her results, she developed some unrelated back problems. Her implants became less comfortable. Although there was nothing wrong with her implants, she decided to have them removed. She had them explanted with local anesthesia and sedation. She did not require a capsulectomy. After surgery, she was please with her natural appearing breasts and had relieve of pain . It is uncommon to request implant removal unless significant problems occur but it is a personal choice and Dr. Lyle has noted more woman requesting this procedure.
