Breast Augmentation with Saline Implants Before and Afters in Raleigh, NC
Concern
This 22 -year -old woman wanted more breasts fullness without being “too large”. She chose saline breast implants as she was concerned about detecting implant leakage. Dr. Lyle used Crisilax 3D imaging to assist in determining proper implants size.
Surgery
She underwent submuscular breast augmentation with Mentor Moderate Plus 300 cc breast implants with quick recovery and return to work in 5 days. Although silicone gel implants are the most popular implants, saline devices achieve the same thing. They do have a bit more palpability and in larger implants with thin tissue – can lead to visible rippling more often than gel devices. Dr. Lyle prefers submuscular positioning for saline implants. Many patients chose them because detection of rupture of leakage is simple. If the implant leaks- it shrinks harmlessly.
