Unsightly C section scar repaired with MiniTummy Tuck in Raleigh, NC
This 43 year old woman had two C sections in the past. She maintained a good diet and exercise program but was unhappy with her lower abdominal appearance. The C section scar was tethered and with aging and some weight gain- she developed a shelf like appearance that could not be hidden with a 2 piece bathing suit and was noticeable in tight fitting dresses and workout clothes. She underwent a mini abdominoplasty type approach with liposuction of her abdomen. A minor degree of excess skin was removed and the scar made more even. The liposuction helped contour her abdomen. She now is very pleased with her new appearance in and out of clothing. Mini abdominoplasty is not usually a viable option for women with significant skin laxity or pannus but for select patients- especially those who really just have a small “pouch” above their C section scar- it can make a big difference.
