Treating skin laxity is still one. Of the most difficult challenges facing aesthetic care providers. Although medical grade skin care agents can improve texture, they rarely tighten the skin very well. Other modalities like Facetite and Renuvion do require incisions and although minimally invasive still have some downtime.
Sofwave uses high intensity ultrasound to target the deep dermis and subcutaneous tissue with the effect of gradual tightening of the collagen structure. The treatment is noninvasive and can take anywhere from one half hour to an hour depending on how much skin is treated. Most common areas of treatment are the face, brow and neck but also arms and loose skin of abdomen and knees. The treatment is not painless and does often require some numbing and even mild analgesics.
Results take 3-6 months to become apparent and generally have a more subtle but noticeable tightening effect.
