Capsular Contracture Treated With Implant Exchange and Capsulectomy
Concern
This 33-year-old woman had prior transaxillary saline breast augmentation. She developed implant malposition and contracture on the left. She thought the implant was deflated.
Surgery
At surgery, Dr Lyle found a capsular contracture and an intact implant. The patient wanted somewhat larger implants, so her 450 cc saline devices were switched to 550 cc Allergan gel devices with partial capsulectomy.
Result
She is now much happier with her breasts.
