Breast Reduction Results in Smaller, Lifted Breasts, Raleigh, NC
This 43-year-old woman had triple D cup bra and wanted to be significantly smaller. She did have neck and back pain but ultimately just felt that her breasts made her look fat. She desired less droopy and smaller breasts -at least 2 cup sizes smaller. She underwent bilateral breast reduction with removal of just under a pound of breast tissue per side. She maintained a full breasted appearance without being overly large and was very happy with her lifted, less saggy breasts. Prediction of cup size is difficult in breast reduction. Cup size varies depending on brassiere type and manufacturer. Patient’s request for a specific cup size can be challenging to achieve. Preservation of blood flow to the nipple areola complex as well as nerve supply is paramount and over resection of breast tissue could lead to wound healing problems and even nipple loss. Breast reduction is associated with an over 95% patient satisfaction, making it a popular procedure. Recovery is generally 1-2 weeks before resuming normal day to day activities although return to full activities such as working out in a gym is usually restricted and may begin at 4-6 weeks on a more limited basis.
Dr. Lyle offers a wide range of Breast Reduction surgery options depending on your anatomy, excess tissue to remove and your desired outcomes. The reduction procedure can also be combined with another surgery.
