Arm Lift, Mastopexy and Abdominoplasty after Bariatric Surgery, Raleigh, NC
Patients with massive weight loss often have multiple areas of concern that can be addressed with body contouring surgery. Typical areas involve arms, breasts, abdomen, thighs and often the back and flank. Although all of these areas may need to be treated surgically, usually they are best to be staged. Patients often desire combinations of procedures and, in an otherwise healthy patient, a number of these procedures can be done in one setting.
This 43-year-old woman has lost over 110 pounds after a Roux-en-Y bypass over one year prior to surgery. He had many concerns but mostly her arms, breasts and abdomen. She was otherwise quite healthy. She did an initial virtual consultation with Dr. Lyle as she lives in another state. An in-person consultation confirmed the initial findings, and a surgical plan was proposed. She underwent brachioplasty, extended mastopexy and abdominoplasty in a single setting. She recovered well and was very pleased with her results. Brachioplasty recovery usually is fairly simple and does not add significantly to the post op care. It is frequently added to mastopexy or other breast surgeries. The tummy tuck usually takes the longest to recover from. The patient was felt to be a suitable candidate for all three procedures. Having an experienced Board-certified surgeon with an excellent support staff allows these combinations to proceed safely.
Dr. Lyle offers Arm Lift (Brachioplasty) surgery to remove excess skin and fat from the upper arms, creating a more sculpted and toned appearance. This procedure is ideal for individuals with loose or sagging skin due to aging or weight loss.
