What Priority After Bariatric Surgery?-Breast implants with Lift in Raleigh, NC
Most patients who have undergone massive weight loss after bariatric procedures have a variety of desires or ” needs” to improve the loose skin and body changes after the weight loss. Generally, it is recommended to wait at least 1 year after the weight loss surgery to undergo body contouring. Priorities are very individualized. Some patients wish to address the loose abdomen with abdominoplasty or body lift while others may wish to have their batwing like arms corrected. This 42-year-old woman had prior gastric bypass and lost over 150 pounds. She was very concerned about the appearance of her breasts and although other areas also bothered her, she chose to undergo augmentation mastopexy. Dr. Lyle performed submuscular silicone gel breast implants utilizing Sientra Full profile smooth wall gel prosthesis- (415 cc) in addition to a full Wise pattern-or anchor type mastopexy. Most patients with this degree of weight loss do require this type of incision pattern to achieve the optimal shape. She was very pleased with her improvement and is going to consider further body contouring in the future.
Dr. Lyle offers various body contouring procedures for patients who have experienced significant weight loss. These procedures remove excess skin and improve body shape for a more toned and defined appearance.
