Concern: This patient is a 39-year-old woman who use to wear a 440 pounds. She lost 200 pounds after bariatric procedure a year and a half ago. She had multiple concerns but her primary concern was
: Loose flabby arms
: Large abdominal pannus extending into the back with fullness above the buttock
: Small saggy breasts and back rolls
: Loose thighs
Procedure:
This patient underwent a circumferential abdominoplasty with extended brachioplasty.. The procedure was done at Rex Hospital as an outpatient as she had a body mass index over 35. Dr. Lyle prefers to do these cases in the hospital setting but often without an overnight stay. She did have drain tubes in for a week.
Result:
The patient was thrilled with her results. She is planning to have an extended mastopexy with back line lift in the future to address her back rolls and sagging breasts. Some of the tissue will be utilized to do an auto augmentation flap to increase breast size without a breast implant.
Future plans include thigh lift as well.
