Brazilian butt lift has become one of the most sought after cosmetic surgeries in the U.S. and is currently in high demand. This butt enhancement surgery offers individuals a natural way to achieve a rounder and shapelier buttocks without incorporating the use of an implant. Significant weight loss, aging, gravity, and genetics can lead to a flat and unshapely buttocks.

There is an artistic approach to perfecting this body contouring surgery and with many years of training, experience, and learned skill, Raleigh, NC plastic surgeon Dr. Glenn Lyle is able to garner natural, gorgeous results at Lyle Plastic Surgery and Aesthetics Center.

Who Are Ideal Candidates For BBL in Raleigh, NC?

Today, a rounder, more voluptuous buttocks is desired more than ever. Using your own fat, the Brazilian butt lift adds fullness to the patient’s buttocks area to create the desired look. The process is accomplished through a uniquely specialized fat grafting and transfer process, which uses liposuction to remove unwanted fat pockets from a targeted area of your body, such as the abdomen and flanks, and then transfer it into your buttocks.

Candidates for the body contouring procedure known as the Brazilian butt lift will be evaluated to confirm they are right for this treatment. First, we make sure there is adequate fat on the body to remove for the transfer process. If you have a low body weight or have limited fat to remove for the transfer, you unfortunately may not be a good fit for this treatment. Additionally, it is crucial to have healthy skin laxity. If you have sagging skin, you may need a surgical butt lift instead. If you are at a good weight, have the right amount of fat to extract and transfer, and do not want to use an implant, this procedure may be a terrific option for you.

What Happens During BBL Surgery?

General anesthesia is used for a fat transfer surgery of this nature. Although in some cases of smaller improvements, like hips dips, local anesthesia may be feasible. It is qualified as an outpatient procedure and generally takes around 2 – 3 hours depending on the quantity of fat that is being removed and reinstated. Liposuction will be performed first to extract fat from specific locations of the body such as the hips, abdomen, lower back, and thighs. This method of fat removal is performed at the highest quality and safety so the fat tissue is protected from the open environment before it is purified in a closed and sterile  system. During this time, healthy fat tissue is carefully harvested and put into syringes. The injection phase then takes place, with the healthy fat tissue reinstated in a manual layering process with a delicate massage to make certain the surface looks even and smooth. Hand held ultrasound is often used to ensure the appropriate location of grafting. This step is repeated multiple times until the expected shape has been achieved.

What To Expect During BBL Recovery

Following a Brazilian butt lift, you will be released home to recover. Keep in mind there are two areas that need to be monitored — the sections where the fat was liposuctioned and your enhanced buttocks. Both areas may have bruising. Compression garments are necessary. Patients should try their best to not place a lot of weight on the buttocks for around 4 weeks following surgery. As soon as the swelling has gone away, you will immediately notice smoothness, but final results are most often seen between 3-4 months. The buttocks will look curvaceous and shapelier. Even better, the liposuction may make the outcome even more dramatic if implemented on the hips or lower back/flanks section.

FAQs: Brazilian Butt Lift in Raleigh, NC With Dr. glenn Lyle

How much does a Brazilian butt lift cost?

The total cost for your Brazilian butt lift (BBL) includes the costs for both fat transfer and liposuction, facility fees, anesthesia, as well as care before and after your surgery. As soon as Dr. Lyle has developed your BBL treatment plan, He will be better able to estimate your costs. We want you to concentrate on choosing a Plastic Surgeon you trust, like Dr. Lyle, so we’ll help make your Brazilian butt lift easy to afford. Lyle Plastic Surgery and Aesthetics Center takes several payment methods and we can give you information on low-interest financing.

To improve the shape and size of your buttocks, you can choose butt augmentation with either implants or fat grafting, which is commonly called a Brazilian butt lift. During your initial consultation, Dr. Lyle will discuss both options and help you decide which is better based on your body and goals. He will also assess your body to determine which areas would get liposuction (typically the thighs, back, or stomach). If you have a low body fat percentage, you may not be a candidate for a Brazilian butt lift.

Although a small amount of fat may be reabsorbed by your body after your Brazilian butt lift, the majority of the fat cells will remain in your buttocks for many years. To maintain your results, you need to keep your weight steady since significant weight loss or gain will compromise the results of your Brazilian butt lift. That’s why Dr. Lyle suggests you be at a healthy, stable weight before your Brazilian butt lift so it is easier for you to stay at.

If you want to minimize your recovery following a BBL, Dr. Lyle or a member of His team will go over post-operative instructions. You will need to avoid sitting on your buttocks for at least two weeks as the area heals. Dr. Lyle suggests you get a Boppy nursing or donut-shaped pillow that lets you sit so the pressure is on your legs rather than your buttocks. Short walks and light stretching can help to improve your blood circulation and reduce inflammation. Dr. Lyle may also suggest a special post-surgical massage to speed your healing.

While it’s called a Brazilian butt lift, this name is a little confusing since it isn’t really a butt lift (gluteoplasty), which surgically removes loose skin from the buttocks. Although, the extra volume added to your butt during a Brazilian butt lift can fill some of the loose skin. If you are concerned about moderate or severe excess skin in your butt, you might want a gluteoplasty with your Brazilian butt lift. During your initial consultation, Dr. Lyle can explain your options depending on your goals and physical exam.
