Patients desiring combined procedures such as breast surgery and tummy tucks-{commonly known as mommy makeovers), will frequently request fat transfer to the buttock during this procedure. The success of this procedure can be limited by the need for postoperative positioning which can lead to pressure on the newly grafted buttock. In many cases, some limited fat transfer can be performed during the same procedure but patients are cautioned that the results may be less than ideal. This patient desired mommy make- over with placement of her choice of saline implants under the muscle and abdominoplasty. She did wish to have improvements in her buttock shape but chose to stage the procedures. She underwent the implant placement and tummy tuck with some limited liposuction and then underwent further liposuction of the flanks and back with fat transfer to the buttock 3 months after. She had an additional touch up as well but ultimately had nice improvements in her buttock as well as an improved appearance of her breast and abdomen. Performing BBL-Either prior to abdominoplasty or after is often recommended to maximize the results. Performing Brazilian butt lift as a secondary procedure has the advantage of allowing additional liposuction to the abdomen and flanks that may not have been as safe during the initial procedure. Although combined fat transfer at the time of abdominoplasty has become more acceptable-it may not yield the optimal result.
