Vaser Liposuction with Fat Grafting to Buttocks, North Carolina
Fat grafting to the buttocks also known as Brazilian Butt Lift or BBL, is becoming more popular as women have become more concerned about buttock appearance as fashion preferences have changed. This 25-year-olld woman wanted improvements in her buttock with fat removal from her flanks and abdomen. She underwent 360° liposuction of the abdomen and flanks and back and some inner thigh utilizing the Vaser device which helps to emulsify fat, and power assisted liposuction to harvest the fat. Fat was then placed/ injected into each buttock. Fat grafting to the buttock usually is quite well tolerated with anticipated recovery of 1-2 weeks followed by a period of continued avoidance of pressure on the buttock while sitting and sleeping. Use of pressure relieving pillows is recommended and compression garments are necessary. Results take at least 3 months to see significant change as swelling and skin tightening take at least this long to occur. Results even improve beyond this point. A certain amount of fat is known to be resorbed and grafted fat does not all survive. A variety of processing techniques have been utilized to maximize fat success, however no one technique is uniformly considered “the best”. Cost of BBL depends on the amount of time required to harvest the fat and perform the liposuction and generally runs between $7000-$10,000. Even with modest improvement in buttock size, patients are pleased with the improvement of the flank and back and abdomen.
