Concern: This 40-year-old gentleman at one time played offensive lineman in college and had a playing weight of about 350 pounds. After completing his career, he gained additional weight and got up to 450 pounds. Wishing to get more fit and healthy, he underwent a bariatric procedure 2-1/2 years ago and lost over 200 pounds. He sought out Dr. Glenn Lyle’s expertise in post bariatric body contouring with his top priority being his abdomen and flanks and pubic area.

Procedure: The patient underwent an extended abdominoplasty and pubic contouring which started in his back with removal of over 12 pounds of excess skin and fat. He also had some contouring of the lateral chest. This was done at Rex Hospital as an outpatient because of his large size. He was otherwise quite healthy and suffered no complications from the surgery

Outcome: The patient had dramatic improvement after this procedure. Now resuming normal activities after 3 months such as playing golf and spending time with his kids at the pool and beach feeling more confident in his appearance.
